The Wedding Sales Manager is responsible for increasing F&B banquet revenues with Primary focus on Weddings, Secondary Rehearsal Dinners, and Farewell Brunches. Responsibilities include the implementation of various strategies and action plans to actively solicit this market segment for the resort. This to include prospecting from various leads sources, follow up, preparing estimates and proposals, contract negotiations, and involvement in local and regional wedding shows. Responsibilities also include conducting periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current wedding collateral and packages, which will enhance The Beach House's competitiveness in the marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively sell and increase Wedding Banquet F&B and rooms revenue at the property at a level to meet or exceed the budgeted requirements.
  • Respond to all inquiries (phone, email, walk in) with goal to schedule a property tour. 
  • Be knowledgeable of competitive set and current markets to include participation in relevant wedding related trade shows.
  • Be involved with local businesses to include chamber of commerce, VCB, and wedding/catering vendors to develop and grow relationship and market the hotel to clients.                         
  • Work with the restaurant and banquet managers to ensure event set-up and service meets Beach House standards
  • Work closely with wedding coordinator in the turnover process of the wedding providing specific details on the pre-contracting phase, estimates given, ceremony, reception, and vendors requested for the wedding.
  • Works with DOS and DOC on guidelines set for selling weddings at the resort. This to include event space rental, F&B minimums and maximization of event space.
  • Assists DOS/DOC in the preparation of the marketing plan and annual budget to increase the profitability of the banquet operation; monitors performance against budgets; recommends corrective actions as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met.
  • Assure the efficient and timely submission of all catering sales reports as required quarterly by the hotel.

  • Prior experience in the field of hospitality with specific experience in Wedding Sales is required. A creative individual with a passion for wedding and event management.

Minimum of 2-3 years selling Weddings within the Hospitality Industry required. Must have experience at a similar size and quality hotel to include independent hotel property. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Opera and SalesPro or Delphi.  Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers. Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market. Ability to execute appropriate action plans. Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, and long-range planning. Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines. Command of the English language both written and verbal.
